Chitwan national park is an exciting and diverse wildlife haven, and to help you enjoy your stay at the lodge in Chitwan we are offering a package as diverse as the park itself. Chitwan National Park is located 175 Kilometers south west of Kathmandu. The elephant back safari is an excellent opportunities for nature lovers to enter deep into the wilderness of jungle and view rare species such as the sloth bear, bison, one horned rhino, leopard and the elusive royal Bengal tiger. The common species such as deer, rhinoceros and wild boar are in abundance. A calm float down the Rapti river between the forest in a handmade canoe offer the chance to view many of the more than 450 species of exotic birds including Giant Hornbill, Lesser Florican and Paradise flycatcher.  You will also encounter different species of crocodile like Marsh Magar and Gharials taking sun bath and some of passing very close to your canoe.

How to get there: By raft (scenic or white water): Departure from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M. by car/coach for Mugling (confluence of Marshynagdi and Trisuli river) from where exciting rafting begins and floats down to a picnic spot for lunch along the river side. Continue your destination where our vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to Chitwan.

By surface: Departure from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M by car/ coach for Chitwan National park on the Mugling-Narayanghat highway 175 kms for a scenic four hour drive.

By Air: Regular air services by different air lines are available from Kathmandu to Bharatpur. It takes about 20 min.

Recommended clothing

A jacket or sweater is required during November, December, January and February. Lightest clothing with sunglasses and hats are required from April onwards. Pants should be worn during Elephant rides. No wallets and accessories etc should be kept in the back pockets as they may fall out. Bright colors dresses such as red and white should be avoided since these colors may divert the animal's concentration on you especially in the case of rhino. Comfortable walking shoes are essentials. Please carry only the bare necessary accessories but not jewelers and valuable things. During the warmer months swimming suits are recommended.


ELEPHANT SAFARI: Travel through open grassland and dense forest on elephant back in search of rare games. Be on the lookout for the great one homed rhino, four species of deer, wild boar, sloth bear, leopard, bison and the big one, the Royal Bengal tiger.

CANOEING: A traditional dugout canoe takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti river between the forests  to view birds, crocodile and the animals of the river and the river bank (From October through to mid March)

NATURE WALK: Out trained naturalists take you to prime spots to view deer, rhino, sloth bears and other wildlife. Detailed knowledge of the wildlife and jungle will fascinate your trip.

BIRD WATCHING: An early morning walk through the bush and along the Rapti River is a must to view many of the more than 450 species of exotic birds, including the Giant Hornbill, Lesser florican and Paradise Flycastcher. Again you will be accompanied by our experienced naturalist.

01 NIGHT / 02 DAYS

You reach Chitwan by 12 am to 1 pm. On your arrival at Chitrasari our staff will receive you. You will then be transferred to our Resort where you will be offered refreshment & be given a briefing on our resort & its facilities. After being briefed about your programme for the day, your room will then be allocated to you.
