Naya kanga peak also known as Ganja La Chuli is a popular trekking peak destination of Langtang region in Nepal. Naya kanga peak rises sharply and beautifully from the west of the Ganja La (5122m/16800ft) which is one of the most difficult pass giving access to Helambu and the Kathmandu Valley. Langtang valley lies 30 to 35 kilometers north of the Kathmandu valley towards the Tibetan border. Moreover, easy access to this region and availability of several glaciated peaks strewn around this peak for acclimatization has made this region an idyllic destination for learner as well as experienced climbers. Naya kanga peak climbing is a perfect combination of the peak climbing and adventurous trekking through the famous Langtang region. From farmland of Dhunche our trek commences up the valley for four days passing through the pristine forest of Rhododendron blooming from pink to red, conifer, towering grass bamboos, oaks and pines, narrow Georges of Langtang river ascending up the beautiful Langtang valley up to the vast alpine grassland of Kyangjing Gompa (3,900 m.)

Normally, we climb Naya Kanga via the alpine North-East Ridge, an artistic line on snow and ice. We follow the usual route of Langtang trek crossing the Langtang Khola below we climb steeply along the ridge through a forest of rhododendron and juniper up to Kyangjing (3,749m) and then ascending the pasture land we reach Ngegang (4,000m.) now climbing steeply through vast moraines crossing Ganja la pass we reach the great glacier on the north - east ridge. We set up our high camp here and prepare to climb the peak. The most technical section of the climb is the ice nose to the left and the climb near the summit. We spend a day as acclimatization summiting other peaks nearby.  The Naya Kanga summit offers the spectacular panoramic views of mountains of Nepal and Tibet including Langshisa Ri (6,370m), Pemthang Ri (6,836m), Shishapangma (8,046m) - only one eight thou sander lying totally in Tibet, Langtang Lirung (7,425m), Pemthang Kapro Ri (6,830m) and Langtang II (6,571m) and many more glaciated peaks. To the North - east of Kyangjing Ri (4,700m), there are two peaks namely Yala Peak (5, 500m) and Tsergo Peak (5,749m) that provide good climbing for acclimatization.
