Thorung Peak (6144m) is one of the popular snowy mountains situated on the south and just left of the Thorung La, seen just past the Gya La (3970m). Thorung Peak (6144m) climbing is not just an adventurous peak climbing but an excellent combination of possibilities to gain a 6000 meter peak while trekking all the way through the classic Annapurna trail. Thorung peak (6,144m) is also sometimes called "Torongtse".

The trek follows all the way through the classic Annapurna trail up to the Tetang. From Tetang the trail descends from the Gya La (3970m) and eventually joins the main trail from Manang to Ranipauwa. Muktinath is visible in the lower right from the trail. This trekking route passes through the rhododendron and pine forest, mountainous landscape, delightful Gurung villages, river valleys, alpine meadows offering panoramic views of Annapurna Himalayan range. This mountain is situated behind Thorung la so you cannot climb from Thorung la. In Thorung peak climbing you have to stay in a tented camp for three days during the climb and on rest of the day we provide you lodge to stay. The maps you can buy contain south of the pass only a mountain called Kwantung Kang (6488 m). Best season to summit in this peak is during April to June and September to November.
