Helambu trek is one of the most popular and blissful short trekking destination among the trekkers located about 72 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. Helambu trekking trail has a classic landscape extends from north of Taramarang to the tree limit of the Gosainkunda Lake up to lower slopes of Jugal Himal. This trekking trail takes you all the way from the lowland of Melamchi at 800m to highland valley at Tharepati (3490m).

We drive Kathmandu to Sundarijal where you can visit Shivapuri watershed and Wild life from Sundarijal our trek starts as we ascend up along concrete steps with water in the pipeline flowing downward which supply water to the Kathmandu valley and rhododendron and pine forest. We then continue our trek through the places like Chisapani (2300m) to Khutumsang (2,470m), Khutumsang to Tharepati (3490m), Tharepati to Tarke Gyang (2620m), Tarke Ghyang to Sermathang (2620m) and Sermathang to Malemchi Pul Bazaar (846m) passing through the pristine forests apple yard, different Tamangs and Sherpa villages, rocky terrain, rivers, valleys with yak grazing on the field, alpine meadows and icy crystalline lakes, moraines, and trail offering you the most spectacular view of the Langtang Lirung and Gosainkunda peak. This trek also can be an ideal trek for those who want to experience the typical Sherpa culture and lifestyle of Helambu. By virtue of the easy access of transportation and tea houses this trek is gaining popularity day by day. Finally we drive from Melamchi Pul up to Kathmandu valley via Panchkhal. 

Day 01: Sundarijal to Chisopani (2,300m)

our trek starts from Sundarijal which is at15km drive from Kathmandu.  Sundarijal as we ascend up along concrete steps with water in the pipeline flowing downward which supply water to the Kathmandu valley and rhododendron and pine forest you can visit Shivapuri watershed and Wild life Reserve. As we ascend some 600m above Sundarijal we reach first access of our trek Mulkharka. From here we continue walking up to Chisopani (2300m).

Day 02: Chisopani to Khutumsang (2,470m)

From Chisopani the trekking trail heads down to Pati Bhanjyang (1770m) - a beautiful village. From here the trail passes through up and then down heading towards the village of Gul Bhanjyang (2140m). And a short climb and descend through rocky topography will take us to Khutumsang (2470m). 

Day 03: Khutumsang to Tharepati (3490m)

From Khutumsang  the trekking trail following one of the best rigde walk among all trail in Nepal passing through sparse forest to Magen Goth  which offers the most spectacular view of Langtang and Gosainkunda peak, and finally take us to Tharepati (3490m). The trails to Gosainkunda branches off north – west from this point.

Day 04: Tharepati to Tarke Gyang (2620m)

from here our trekking trail hastily descends down a steep narrow valley via beautiful Sherpa village of Malemchi Gaon (2530m) with comfortable lodges and historical and artistic Gompa. After taking a rest for a while we then head down hill crossing village and Malenchi Khola Bridge at 1890m leading up the adjacent side of the valley Tarke Gyang at 2620m - the largest village in Helambu.

Day 05: Tarke Ghyang to Sermathang (2620m)

From here the route takes us down through the beautiful forest up to Sermathang (2620m) - which is well known as an apple growing area.

Day 06: Sermathang

Today we take a day rest in this place exploring the local culture, custom and their typical life style.  

Day 07: Sermathang to Malemchi Pul Bazar (846m) and drive back to Kathmandu

from the village of Sermanthang we continue to descent down to Malemchi bazaar (830m) via Dubhachaur at 1500m. Malemchi bazaar (830m) has a good access of the transportation and tea houses. From here we drive back to Kathmandu via Panchkhal through the Kodari road.
