Kang Gosainkunda trek is one of the most popular trekking trails in Langtang region lying to the north of the Kathmandu valley. Designated as national park in 1976, the Langtang valley is the second largest national park of Nepal. The vast landscape of the Kang Gosainkunda trek in Langtang region extends from 32 kilometer north of Kathmandu to the Tibet border. This idyllic trek will take you all the way up to the Kyangjing Ri (4700m) offering you the most spectacular view of the highest mountain of the region Langtang Lirung (7,200 m.) with the Annapurna range rising at its background and to the west you can observe Himal Chuli (7893m) Manaslu (8156mm) and Ganesh Himal (7406m) encountering wide range of animals including Himalayan black bear, Goral, Pika, Langur monkeys and the most of all endangered red panda.
Our trek commences from Syabru Bensi following a rugged trail with dense forests of Bamboo, Oaks, pines and Maples on the either side of the trail and steep narrow valley through the Langtang Khola towards Goratabela (2900m). From here, the valley of glacier gets wider and wider taking us to the Langtang valley- biggest Tibetan settlement rich in Tibetan culture. Taking a little forward ascending up a small ridge will take us to the holy lake of Gosainkunda - Containing a dozen of lakes in its basin including three main namely Saraswati kunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda. These are the holy lake and famous pilgrimage for Hindu and Buddhist both is visited by many pilgrims yearly. This lake also has its own mythological according to legend story it is believed that, lord Shiva created Gosainkunda by piercing a glacier with his weapon trident to acquire water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison that could destroy the world. From Gosainkunda we head towards the Kyangjing gompa the last village in the region from here we climb the highest asses point of this trek up to Kyangjing Ri(4700m) which offers the incomparable view of Langtang Lirung, Gangchempo, Dorje Lakpa, Langshisa Ri, Yala peak, Naya Kang, Morimoto peak and many more. We trek back to Kathmandu via Chisapani and Sundarijal. You can also experience the unique Tibetan culture, tradition and their lifestyle.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu; transfer to the Hotel. Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley
Day 02: We Drive from Kathmandu to Dunche which will take about 9 hours of continuous drives. Overnight in teahouse
Day 03: We trek from Dunche to Sing Gompa (Chandanbari)
Day 04: We trek from sing Gompa to Gosainkunda- the holy lake and famous pilgrimage for Hindu and Buddhist both is visited by many pilgrims yearly
Day 05: We then continue our trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte (after crossing Lauribina La pass)
Day 06: We trek back from Ghopte to Tharepati (3490m)
Day 07: We trek back from Tharepati to Kutumsang (2,470m) following one of the best ridge walk among all trail in Nepal passing through sparse forest to Magen Goth
Day 08: We trek back from Kutumsang to Chisapani (2,300m)
Day 09: We Trek back to Sundarijal and then drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 10: Free day in Kathmandu
